Marissa Mayer snags another ex-Googler for Yahoo

by Steven Musil August 19, 2012

Marissa Mayer has poached another employee from Google.

Mayer, the No. 20 employee at Google who was named Yahoo's CEO in July, has hired former Google product marketing manager Andrew Schulte as her new chief of staff.

Anne Espiritu, who ran consumer technology PR for Google, was one of Mayer's first hires from her former employer earlier this month.

Schulte, who joined Google in 2007, announced his job change in a tweet earlier this month:

Mayer is also reportedly in the market for a chief operating officer to free her up to handle product decisions.

Yahoo declined to comment, saying: "We don't comment on rumors, speculation, or internal matters."
