Samsung Galaxy S III to sport 1280x720 resolution?
Consumers awaiting the next Galaxy S smartphone could be treated to an eye-catching resolution.
If true, this would represent a healthy bump up from the Galaxy S II, which offers a 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 800x480 pixels.
Samsung has already indicated that it's started testing the new Galaxy phone with Korean carriers, The Verge added. But that doesn't necessarily mean the phone is just around the corner. Though Samsung would like testing completed sooner than the usual two months, the process is likely to take longer since the phone will offer a quad-core chip as well as LTE support.
Recent rumors suggested that the handset could reach consumers this month, though Samsung denied such reports.
Earlier rumors had pointed to a release day of sometime in May.
Samsung did not immediately respond to CNET's request for comment.
