If you've never heard of Coolpad, don't worry, you're not alone. Based in China, it recently introduced its first U.S. smartphone: the Coolpad Quattro 4G. Though its specs are low-end, it comes without any carrier strings on MetroPCS.

Weighing 3.32 ounces, the Quattro 4G is lightweight, but bulky at 4.96 inches tall and 2.6 inches wide.

The Coolpad Quattro 4G is also 0.51 inch thick, giving it a not-so-slender profile.

Despite its boxy build, however, MetroPCS' Coolpad Quatro 4G sports an interesting and unique silver back plate.

Unfortunately, the handset ships with the dated Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and a laggy 1GHz processor.

The Quattro 4G is equipped with a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera and a front-facing VGA camera.
